[tlinux-users:07977] Installs Unsuccessful

I have not been successful in any of my attempts to install several Linux
distros in my Toshiba M45 S265 laptop.

The closest I've come to success is with SuSE 10.0 and 10.1 by adding the
install switch "acpi=off". If I install without this switch, then sound
will not work, and two of my USB ports are intermittent with my external
mouse. Running without ACPI is not good.

Ubuntu installs, but won't complete a normal logon afterward. I enter my
login name and passwd, then only see a mouse curser afterward. Kubuntu
installs, but no sound and the same erratic mouse as with SuSE.

Much the same story with Fedora Core 5 and Mandriva 2006.

I'm not sure what to do next. Any help would be appreciated.
