lol... I think he can do much more than that.

Looking at your specs, it seems that you will be ok with sound, unlike me
because of a proprietary codec.
I recommend you to try first with ubuntu (there is a dvd version) or
mandriva 2006 (also on dvd)
Once you get linux installed, go to nvidia.com and get the installer. Follow
the instructions afterwards.
