Well, I am a Fedora user and 'reboot' works a treat, particularly now that I
have the irqpoll option set in the startup script. Can you give it a go with
nothing on the USB or in the PCMCIA - if that fixes it then it might be a
problem with the peripherals starting, not the PC.
If you have an older kernel kicking around you can try and boot from that -
in that way you can diagnose if h/ware or s/ware.

Hi,

since a few weeks I can't restart my Satelitte 2410-404 from Linux 
(Ubuntu 6.06). If I restart (f.ex. restart -r now) it's a normal 
shutdown and the LEDs stay on, but somehow there is no signal to start 
again. I have to turn it off and turn it on again. With Windows it's no 
problem.

I hope you can help me.
