Well, could you please in the Makfile file you will find in the
omnibook module sources directory change (line 49):
DEBUG   = # -D OMNIBOOK_DEBUG  -g -O0
into: DEBUG   = -D OMNIBOOK_DEBUG  #-g -O0

Then recompile the module, unload the old module, load
the new one, and try all provided features (cat every files
in /proc/omnibook ... change LCD brightness ... try some
hotkeys (you can launch 'xev' and watch for keypress events)
etc ... see what happen.
And then finally unload the module.

The send me all your resulting kernel logs.
