I have a Toshiba Tecra 8000 which I purchased in 2005 second hand. I
want to install on it the latest Debian stable distribution.

This laptop presently has an 8.1 gb hard drive. Before installing Linux
on it I would like to replace this drive with a larger one, a 120 gb
drive if possible. Is there any limit to the size of the primary hard
drive that can be installed in this model?

The model number is of this Tecra 8000 is PRT800U-KB51, serial number
Z9340400U. It has a PII 365 mH CPU and 256 mb of installed memory, the
maximum allowed.

The BIOS installed is 8.20; the latest seems to be 9.30. For a larger
hard drive would upgrading the BIOS be necessary?
