Thanks, but I'm not talking about Windows Media Player. The Express Media Player
is a DVD/CD player on some Toshibas (such as the Satellite P100 I have)
that works without booting into Windows. It is installed on a hidden
partition on the disk. Instead of booting your notebok, you just put a
DVD/CD in and press play. As far as I understand it, there's a small syslinux
installation on the hidden partition.

So upon powerup the computer needs to know if it should boot into a
normal OS or into the EMP. My question is, if I break this mechanism
when installing grub for a dualboot system.
