Detail: You can use Windows + Linux in the same HDD making 4 partitions:
- - Windows
- - Linux
- -- Swap
- -- Home

I have WinXP + OpenSuSE 10.1 on my Toshiba M45-S355 with this conditions
(my HDD have 100Gb):
- - Windows: 15Gb
- - Linux (/): 25Gb
- -- Swap: 500Mb
- -- Home: 59,5Gb
