Try GENTOO, it s totally customizable...

get it here
http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/where.xml

If you have a lot of experience, try minimal installation, using your
Ethernet card first and later you will be able to install your WiFi
driver if those are not considered in the base Gentoo system. You can
install WiFi system through NDISWRAPPER or some friendly HOW TO which
can be find in Gentoo Wiki or How to web pages.

follow the HANDBOOK based in your CPU here:

http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/index.xml

AMD64 type can be applied for 2 core CPU...
Don't forget to read the manual and follow the instructions, maybe the
first time it will be strong for you as the life, later it will be a
little boy game.
If you are a standard WINDOWS user, forget it!!!!

Enjoy and good luck!!!!
