I got the oss modules for free from 4Front - http://opensound.com/ OSS v4.0
(They used to charge for this)
/usr/lib/oss/bin/soundon | soundoff | ossmix -d:0 pcm-front 50:50 //{Left
: Right} | osstest
However it would be good to have alsa working as well. I got alsa to work in
this off and on game
by using ./snddevices which i was said not to use with 2.6.x.x
Also I noticed that a forums statement that alsa modules are built into the
kernel by default so checking alsa modules could interfere with the
operation somehow in 2.6.x.x kernels. I think it was in kernel compile at
the kernel respository for 2.6.x.x download.
