Dear Bill, Why struggling with Ubuntu to make it work? When ubuntu did not boot on my Toshiba Laptop, I tried other Distros. Try Simply MEPIS ( Based on Debian)or PCLINUXOS or VectorLinux. They will boot without any problem. They are very close to windows user interfaces. regards Gururaja Bill Nickels wrote: > I have been unable to boot any recent Live CD variants of Ubuntu/Kbuntu. > > The problems seem to be related to X-Server being unable to init because > of not finding a working VGA across ACPI. > > I would like to here from anyone that has suggestions or has been > through this and has a solution. > > Thanks, > > Bill > > Boo!
