What Ubuntu version did you try so far? 6.10? 7.04? For what I read earlier in some Ubuntu forums, I consider the GMA X3000 graphics adapter built into the A205-S4777 to be the source of the problem. Referring to some forum posts ([1], in example), support for this card might have somewhat improved in oncoming gutsy release (which is about to be released on thursday IIRC) so you might want to check this one on your machine. Cheers & good luck, Kristian (running 7.10 on an A8 machine) [1]http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=488493 -- Kristian Rink * http://zimmer428.net * http://flickr.com/photos/z428/ jab: [email protected] * icq: 48874445 * fon: ++49 176 2447 2771 "One dreaming alone, it will be only a dream; many dreaming together is the beginning of a new reality."
