This can not be done by heartbeat.

To accomplish this you need to take help from some other software like mon (http://www.kernel.org/software/mon/) or monit(http://www.tildeslash.com/monit/).

When this monitoring service detects a failure of your important monitored service I guess you want to do a hb_standby.

Hi,

 

I have installed ultramonkey in my debian server and i have configured the High Availability: Single Virtual Service using this link http://www.ultramonkey.org/3/topologies/ha-eg.html and i have tested my heartbeat is working fine if i stop the mater machine backup machine is taking over the service.Now i want to configure the apache service need to failover.If i have my master apache server fails it should automatically point to the backup server without downtime for this i need to do any configuration changed in my config file or please give me some examples how to configure this service in haresouces file or ha.cf file.

If you have some examples or articles please post here.I want to use only High Availability: Single Virtual Service and load balancing can be done by other application.

 

PLEASE HELP ME HOW TO CONFIGURE THIS
