Re: Regular kernel panics

Hello,

I was getting in the same trouble 3-4 months ago.
Every 2-5 days the kernel was freezing, the only one solution was a hard
reboot (not even the SysReq key R ). Thanks heartbeat for the
redundancy ;-)

Setup : Centos 4 (up to date 4.3) i386 smp + UM3 from CentOS

I've try to change the hardware, downgrade the kernel, downgrade
UM3->UM2. I was always getting exactly the same problem.

On the other hand, i get exactly the same server (Dell Poweredge 2550)
with exactly the same software (UM3, Centos4 smp, ...) without any issue
for months maybe years ;-)

I've try different kernel nothing solve it -> I've installed a Fedora
Core 4 kernel (2.6.16-1.2096_FC4.rootsmp) and upgraded the related
dependancies. Not a good solution but not even a warning in 3 months.

I would be very interested to know the problem but it was on a
production environnement...
