You could try running ldirectord as a stand-alone daemon, 
and always have it running on the active and stand-by linux directors,
rather than having heartbeat fire it up.

Alternatively, ldirectord could be modified, to only return once
all the services are up, but this would be somewhat tricky given
the current code.
