Well, I seem to have fixed the problem, but I still don't know how/why. After looking around for a more recent kernel, I got to think about how this problem was only affecting one VIP and not any others like a kernel issue would. After some some general digging around some more, apparently the testing environment was missing a virtual host entry for graphics (which were working fine, strangely). I added that to Apache, and the problem stopped. How that changed things, I have no idea still. It utterly makes no sense to me what was going on but apparently that made it stop. Thanks taking the time to look into this, however.
