I'm always amazed how people seize on an opportunity for confusion,
even when there is no chance to be seized.

What is Ultra Monkey?

  * Documentation and a set of packages for some distributions
    to allow you to set up HA/Load Balancing using LVS and Linux-HA
    
What is Linux-HA2?

  * The next generation of Linux-HA

Why does Ultra Monkey still use Linux-HA 1

  * Because I for one believe that code is still more stable than
    Linux-HA 2. I anticipate this will change over the next year.

Can Ultra Monkey use Linux-HA 2

  * Yes, just drop in the packages from 
    http://www.ultramonkey.org/download/heartbeat/2.0.2/

    (This is a repository of Linux-HA packages, made for Linux-HA
     users, linked from Linux-HA.Org as official packages)

To make things a little clearer, I work on both the Linux-HA project
directly, though primarily doing ldirectord and packaging, and 1.2.X,
at the moment. I also work on Ultra Monkey, which tries to make
it easy to use Linux-HA for one particular type of setup.


In answer to your question, how to do HA + Direct-Routing. 
Ultra Monkey is still my recomendation. But keep in mind,
its just documentation and preapared packages. If you have
Linux-HA (1 or 2) installed, and a kernel that supports LVS
(most do these days), and a version of ipvsadm that matches your
kernel, then you have all the software you need.
