hi usagi folks, in my early attempts to test, i am using a lan with a RH FC5, and one of our switches running a linux26 kernel. i am working to test ping6 & ftp. i boot both units and i see their link-local addresses being setup. i can ping6 back and forth between these units just fine. note there is no current ipv6 router on my lan. so, next i setup random global addresses for each of the switch and linux. when i try and ping6 back and forth now, i get 'network is unreachable'. i am making the assumption that this ping6 routing is failing because now that i have real world addresses that its trying to locate a route to send the packet to, not finding it, i get the seen error. is this a valid assumption or i am off in left field? thx in advance, jackc.... -- Jack Craig Linux/XPath Team Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. 1600 Technology Dr. San Jose, CA 95110 408.333.7478 Direct E-mail: [email protected]
