So if I understand using chan_capi is the current way, I tried to
install it (I used Asterisk 13 and the HEAD tarball from
http://www.melware.org/ChanCapi.

I managed to install chan_capi, but I got an error:

CAPI not installed, chan_capi disabled

I have the capi and kernelcapi modules loaded, but I suppose I'm still
missing how to configure /etc/isdn/capi.conf for the my HFC card or to
use mISDN.

Unfortunately but I could not find any documentation about this. The
card is an ASUSTeK Computer Inc. ISDNLink P-IN100-ST-D.
