My humble opinion in this matter is that we should press on the CERN
people to update the yum package in Scientific Linux 4.7 & 4.8 to the
newest version. Persuading developers from the jpackage project to
accomodate to some ancient version of yum is just ridiculous. But I'm
a realist, the last time I reported a bug to CERN it took month or two
while the solution passed their approval procedures.
