What is the right Java upgrade path for RHEL 5 users?

Given that Oracle bought Sun, that RHEL 5 is getting long in the
tooth, and that JPackage 6 is out, what should I be telling RHEL 5
users who want access to recent Java packages? With the .spec files
I've occasionally published for RHEL 5 plugins and the java-sun-*
files, they can use the latest Sun JDK's, But I'm not, personally, a
Java programmer. I'm much more a systems admin. Should I suggest to
them:

* Use Jpackage 6, it's compatible with RHEL 5?
* Use Jpackage 6 with some set of tweaks for RHEL 5? I don't see the
new Oracle JDK's in it, I do see OpenJDK tools. Is that where RHEL 6
users should be going?
* Leap directly to RHEL 6, the built-in tools are up-to-date enough to
work with JPackage 6 if you need more recent components?

I'd very much welcome the insight of people who already support
significant Java communities.
