Hi, I am using jpackage on my centos 5 servers to provide tomcat6 packages. I have noticed that the jars included in the tomcat6-lib-6.0.29-1.jpp5.noarch.rpm are different to those in the lib folder in the standard apache-tomcat-6.0.29.tar.gz on the tomcat website. For example in the rpm, /usr/share/java/tomcat6/[commons-dbcp-tomcat5].jar points to /usr/share/java/jakarta-commons-dbcp-tomcat5-1.2.2.jar where as tomcat-dbcp.jar is included in the lib folder in apache-tomcat-6.0.29.tar.gz on the tomcat website. One of our developers says this is the cause of some issues that we are currently experiencing as there is apparently a livelock problem with dbcp 1.2. What is the reason that this package contains different jars to those included in apache-tomcat-6.0.29.tar.gz on the tomcat website? For reference, here is a list of jars in the lib folder in apache-tomcat-6.0.29.tar.gz:- annotations-api.jar catalina-ant.jar catalina-ha.jar catalina.jar catalina-tribes.jar el-api.jar jasper-el.jar jasper.jar jasper-jdt.jar jsp-api.jar servlet-api.jar tomcat-coyote.jar tomcat-dbcp.jar tomcat-i18n-es.jar tomcat-i18n-fr.jar tomcat-i18n-ja.jar And here is the list in tomcat6-lib-6.0.29-1.jpp5.noarch.rpm:- [commons-collections-tomcat5].jar [commons-dbcp-tomcat5].jar [commons-pool-tomcat5].jar [ecj].jar annotations-api-6.0.29.jar annotations-api.jar catalina-6.0.29.jar catalina-ant-6.0.29.jar catalina-ant.jar catalina-ha-6.0.29.jar catalina-ha.jar catalina-tribes-6.0.29.jar catalina-tribes.jar catalina.jar jasper-6.0.29.jar jasper-el-6.0.29.jar jasper-el.jar jasper.jar tomcat-coyote-6.0.29.jar tomcat-coyote.jar tomcat-i18n-es-6.0.29.jar tomcat-i18n-es.jar tomcat-i18n-fr-6.0.29.jar tomcat-i18n-fr.jar tomcat-i18n-ja-6.0.29.jar tomcat-i18n-ja.jar tomcat6-el-1.0-api-6.0.29.jar tomcat6-jsp-2.1-api-6.0.29.jar tomcat6-servlet-2.5-api-6.0.29.jar Thanks in advance, Ben -- Ben Webber EGS Group Direct Line: +44 (0) 20 7539 2823 Switchboard: +44 (0) 20 7539 2828 Fax: +44 (0) 20 7539 2829 www.egsgroup.com Registered Address: Baird House, 15-17 St Cross Street, London EC1N 8UW Registered Number: 4006942 CONFIDENTIALITY: This email is confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual to whom it is addressed.
