Looks like Scientific Linux, at least, has updated and slightly better java-1.6.0-* packages

I admit, I'd never succeeded in activating the CVS access to help
update the java-1.6.0-sun and java-1.6.0-sun-compat packages myself.
(I've been a busy camper!) And they're only really helpful for the
JPackage 5.0 repository, the openjdk available for RHEL and other
releases works well with the Jpackage 6.0 repository.

But the jave-1.6.0-* packagaes in the Scientific Linux 5.x
repositories are sweet, at
http://mirror.anl.gov/pub/scientific-linux/5x/SRPMS/SL/ and other
Scientific Linux mirrors. Combined with the Oracle jdk-1.6.0 at
http://mirror.anl.gov/pub/scientific-linux/57/x86_64/SL/jdk-1.6.0_26-fcs.[architecture].rpm,
they're very effective at enabling full access to the JPackage 6.0
repository for RHEL, CentOS, and Scientificic Linux 5 users. Updating
them to the release 27 is easy, but hasn't seemed necessary to me yet:
the release 26 has been plenty for my needs.

There's still a small issue with the missing
"/usr/bin/rebuild-securityproviders" from the RHEL version of
jpackage-utils-1.7 and not in the jpackage-utils-5.0.0 from JPackage.
It's still  being demanded by packages, and causes all sorts of
hairiness. I've previously published a jpackage-utils-compat-el5.spec"
for dealing with that effectively. Overall, though, it's a really good
upgrade and solves a lot of maintenance issues for RHEL 5 based
systems dealing with JPackage.
