I've hunted through the archives and various places on the web to see if KDE 4.0.2 can be installed in a CentOS 5.1 i386 system, but so far little luck. I'm assuming that it is not yet available for CentOS in RPM form. The best I have found are some instructions on installing it from source, but it required an upgrade of the kernel as there was some concern that kdenetwork-4.0.1 would fail to compile on kernels prior to 2.6.20 (CentOS 5 is on 2.6.18). I'd rather not change kernels (and if anyone has ideas on this, please let me know). Is there any plan for KDE 4 on CentOS through kde-redhat? If you need any help, can I provide some assistance (testing, building, etc.)?
