While Rex sleeps :-) I'll jump in:

The live cd is a normal system when installed, err default settings in grub 
are set to hide kernel selection. .27 kernel has the latest ath5k drivers in 
F10-beta if considering a wipe, I would for wifi alone and of course 4.1.2.
