Hi all, I came across this mailing list online and thought I would try my question here. I am trying to set up fail over between two Amazon EC2 instances using Keepalived and Amazon Elastic IP. I understand that multicast is not available on Amazon AWS however I have found an article online that states you can use unicast and keepalived also supports this. I have two hosts running CentOS 6.5, HAProxy, Keepalived and Appache/HTTPD. Keepalived checks that the haproxy process is running on the host, if the process fails for any reason, it calls a shell script which executes Amazong EC2 Api tools to re-assign the elastic IP to the standby host. In theory this works, however trying to achieve this on my enviroment is proving to be a bit of a challenge. Has anyone been able to achieve this, if so, would you be able to share how you did this?
