I love optimising workflows and LFS/BLFS allows me to optimise my GNU/Linux computer systems to work how I want, "My distro, my rules". I dumped GNOME after V2, ran XFCE for a few years, and are now using a tty only UI (except for Firefox) with wayland, swaywm, bemenu, foot and tty apps (mutt, tin, lynx, nano, texlive, mc, cmus, nethack). LFS/BLFS gives you the skills to try different components within your own GNU/Linux system, I am currently using OpenRC as the init and eudev. LFS should not move to a SystemD only build, I too dislike SystemD for the same reasons that have been listed in this thread. SystemD/GNOME is the the product of RedHat(IBM) wanting to make GNU/Linux into MS Windows, which they have the freedom to do, but they should not try to enforce this onto the Free Software community. Thank you for everyone's awesome work on LFS/BLFS. Cheers Pierre -- http://lists.linuxfromscratch.org/sympa/info/blfs-dev Unsubscribe: See the above information page
