Sorry for intruding here.  I didn't want to say so in my previous posts
but I'm also increasingly getting the impression that corporate
interests may be behind this ever stronger and ever harder to unravel
entanglement of components.  Who else would profit from it?  The user
definitely not.

I'm not a conspiracy buff.  But I do have the notion that there's a
worrying and dangerous development under way that needs to be resisted.
