Hmm. I just built iptables-1.8.13 and did not have a problem on a BLFS-13.0 system and did not have a problem. But then I did not have an earlier system. I think what you are saying is that we need 'rm -rf /usr/lib/xtables' sometime before the 'make install' instruction.
