This is patently wrong. I did in fact initially populate the sddm.conf with the exact contents of the example-config. This is how I was able to get SDDM working for user that chooses the XWayland mode of operation before completing the logon. I beleive the problems are in the [Wayland] section of the example config. BTW, this example config does not reflect that I have followed the BLFS guidance and used /opt/kf6 and /opt/qt6 as the locations for these pieces critical to Plasma operation. Only by adding some symlinks was I able to get the XWayland mode to operate. These same symlinks are not sufficient to get Plasma mode to operate.
