There are a bunch of patches included in the archlinux build..

https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/dvd-rw-tools

I applied those patches and was able to build and install dvd+rw-tools
following the instructions in the BLFS book.

My LFS and BLFS are both recent.
