Backlight control does not work no entries /sys/class/backlight

This problem stems from my previous thread concerning a lack of slider in
gnome.  The laptop cpu is AMD Ryzen™ 7 4800H with Radeon™

The real is issue here was the lack of backlight control.  I was tolerating it
but it impacts on battery life so I have been trying to solve it but now need
help.

As mentioned the /sys/class/backlight dir is empty whereas it should contain a
link 'amdgpu_bl1' to:

This I believe is governed by the driver 'amdgpu' which is showing as a loaded
module.   There are errors though from the journald though:

The module is loading but I assumed these errors impact the backlight setup?

So I loaded the latest linux firmware for AMD followed by the firmware from
Tuxedo - neither has made any difference.
Tried a new kernel 6.16 - no result.

result
