I have built a BLFS-12.3-SystemV system and am now working on an BLFS-12.4-systemd system. Both systems have KDE Plasma installed. While in 12.3 the smbclient program works as expected, the 12.4-version does not accept any keystroke from the user after displaying the prompt. The only input on which it reacts is Ctrl-C for stopping the program. Samba itself seems to work as expected: smbclient called with parameter '-c' executes the given commands. It is not the samba-version - I have tried the version from the working BLFS-12.3 in the 12.4 system, and there is no change. It is not the (Windows 11)-Server. I have tried to connect to another machine with the same result: Commands can be executed, but not from the interactive prompt. The smb.conf file is the same on the 12.3 and the 12.4 system. I share the home directory for my main user, so there could be a problem with any configuration in the home directory that has to change between the two systems. I have kerberos installed, but not configured (I'm working only locally and don't have a domain name). But this is the same on the working 12.3 system. So there must be a configuration or a missing software dependency that prevents smbclient from working as expected. Does anyone has an idea? Dolphin does not accept smb:// adresses. It says 'smb: invalid protocol' (translated) -- http://lists.linuxfromscratch.org/sympa/info/blfs-support Unsubscribe: See the above information page
