Maybe - but I don't use Gnome.  And I don't want to spend time building
it just to know that gdk-pixbuf without glycin may be useless for it.

Where have I sent anybody in the wrong direction?  You _can_ build
gdk-pixbuf without glycin, I said nothing else.  Nor did I recommend to
do so.  But the option is there for a reason.  And I made my post with
good intent, based on own experience.
