I said that "Glycin is not strictly "required" for gdk-pixbuf,...".  And
I do know the difference between "required" and "recommended".  Like the
build-option that I mentioned (and which I use for gdk-pixbuf), the
fine-grained dependency-ranking is there for a reason.  If you think
that it should be abandoned, make your case over at lfs/blfs-dev.  Good
luck with that.

This is absurd.  I even wrote a ticket lately for using "cargo vendor"
as a means for an offline-build of rust-based packages.  And I couldn't
care less for glycin, as I simply do not use it.  And that's essentially
 what my post was about: "If it causes you problems and you don't need
it: gdk-pixbuf can be built without it."  That was it.  If you deduce a
"private war" against glycin from that I pity you.
