Please don't get me wrong.  I didn't have you or the other editors in
mind, absolutely not.  My criticism was directed at certain trends in
development, esp. ever more complicated and ballooning software (often
for hard to see additional value) and taking control away from
users/builders, for instance by forcing them to accept intransparent
downloads during a build or hard to tame build-systems like ninja.

Sure, I'm absolutely aware of that.  And I highly appreciate what the
LFS/BLFS team provide for users.
