Building LFS in VMware Workstation

Hello all,

I'm just curious if anyone has experience of building LFS in a VMware 
Workstation VM. My host for this is a 12th gen intel system (i5 12600) 
with lots of ram.

VMware is the ideal way for me, but I do find the kernel config challenging.

I can get it booting on its own which is good start, and dmesg is mostly 
clean but I've always had this feeling that the kernel config is still 
less than optimal.

I also don't see open-vm-tools anywhere in the LFS subprojects, which 
VMware supports; this would be a good tool for VMware users I think.

If anyone has knowledge or experience of this that they are willing to 
share, or any kernel config tips, I would appreciate it a lot.

My current host is:

Z790 Chipset (Asrock Z790M ITX)
i5 12600 CPU (6c/12t)
64Gb Ram
Nvidia 4600Ti GPU
2 x nvme SSD's (Seagate FireCuda)

I usually set my VM's to have 4 or 6 cores, 16Gb ram and sata emulated 
HDD's with UEFI boot; nothing exotic here. VMware emulates the 
440BX/PIIX4E chipset.
