The only potential help is to unload as many drivers as possible, and
then try reloading:
$ sudo modprobe agrmodem
$ sudo modprobe agrserial

With respect to the preliminary unloading do:
$ lsmod
start from the top of the list with:
$ sudo modprobe -r driverName
and work your may down.  Do record which modules to unload, so an
automation script can be written to do the job next time.
Periodically check again with:
$ lsmod
