I actually needed a 20 second sleep, I think Karl needed 15 seconds. At
the moment I'm trying Karl's other suggestion of preventing hotplug
from loading the prism2_usb module by blacklisting it, starting it
instead from a boot script late in the boot process. This is looking
good so far. I recommend trying this; if it doesn't work out, go
through your system log in detail, starting from a reboot, and compare
with my findings & Karl's comments in the 'Reliable unreliability with
D-Link DWL-122 USB' thread.

Disabling hal didn't solve the problem for me either on Fedora. See the
other thread.

The sleep in wlan.agent is one way of delaying the card initialising,
but it needs to be a long enough sleep so that the card is brought up
after all the hotplug activity has finished.

It may be, however, that the problem you're having with your MA111 is
not the same as what I've experienced with the DWL-122, as I didn't get
USB disconnects or linkstatus=DISCONNECTED.
