wrong acess point

i use fedora core 4. i use a level one rt2500 chipset
based wlan card, the problem is that there are two
access points near to my room, i stay in a college
dorm, the access point to which my wlan card connects
is far from my room and gives no signal at all and i
dont get any bandwidth at all, whereas in windows with
the utility software that came along with the card i
could permanently chose the correct access point, how
to configure my wlan card in linux to make it connect
to  the correct access point, i have the BSSIDs of
both the access points. please reply back someone.
