A previous mention of firmware that looked "old" whetted my interest so
I looked into it a bit more. Seems like the driver should be RAM-flashing
the firmware with more or less the latest firmware each time it's loaded. Or
so it says in the docs. And, as the docs state, the files are indeed in the
/linux-wlan-ng-XXX/src/prism2/ dir. I'm not quite sure, however, if it's
working.
I went to the site mentioned in the docs --
http://linux.junsun.net/intersil-prism/ -- and downloaded the files and they
seem to be the same ones in the linux-wlan-ng-0.2.2 files. When I do a "cat
/proc/net/p80211/wlan0/nsd" to see what firmware I'm running, it says:
# prism2_usb version 0.2.2 (Thu Oct 13 00:13:39 CDT 2005) '$Id:
prism2sta.c1730 2005-06-22 14:18:09Z solomon $'

# nic h/w: id=0x8010 1.0.0
# pri f/w: id=0x15 1.0.6
# sta f/w: id=0x1f 1.3.4

But the hex files are rf010804.hex and ru010803.hex for the secondary or
"station" , which should be the 1.84 firmware. And the primary should be
1.1.4, since it has the af010104.hex files.
So I'm confused. Is linux-wlan not RAM-flashing the firmware as it
should or do I need to do something else?
