Perhaps you could ask someone what the ssid is? There is a scanner utility called kismet that will work with wlan-ng devices. You may be able to find an rpm using rpmfind.net. (You should get the source, also, if you install a precompiled binary, since the docs tell you to use the source to get config information.)
