Can't seem to get wlan0 recognized on Fedora Core 4

I've searched a long time on the i'net and seen others post this
problem, but without solution.
I have:
Fedora Core 4 (with the kernel 2.6.11 that it comes with)
Ashton Wireless USB network adaptor
I downloaded linux-wlan stuff and followed all the directions very
carefully. My client has a fixed IP of 192.168.0.101.
The problem is that although the prism2_usb is recognized as a device in
the logs, none of the commands recognize wlan0 as a network interface.
Below are the relevant file contents. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
