Re: LKCD upgraded to 2.6.5

I must have missed the kernel patch set that was posted to the list,
or I might not be on the correct list to have seen it. I did get the
patchset for 2.6.5, but I've not seen anything newer.

Its great to hear that things are being brought up-to-date! This is
also my intention for the Debian package. Debian is nearing a freeze
for the next stable release and the LKCD kernel package is being
considered for removal because we have no patches included in the
package that correspond to kernel revisions that will be shipped with
Debian. However, now that I have a 2.6.5 patch and the information
that you've sent, this changes things significantly. I've already
updated the package to include that patch, and was about to submit it,
but now I am wondering if I should wait until these newer patchsets
are checked in.

Regarding the lcrash utility, I've been trying to sort this one out
from the beginning, and would be thrilled if we could do that. I've
got to dig out a couple emails to remind me what needed sorting, so I
will post that in a separate thread.

I am even more thrilled that these patches will be released in a more
cleaner manner (a single patchset against vanilla kernel is music to
my ears). I hope that one day this functionality will be merged into
the vanilla kernel tree.

I'd be happy to attempt a test of the 2.6.8-1 patch on my system to
see how it fares.
