samba + pam interaction on lsbsi

So far, I can't make samba work inside
the lsbsi. What I can do is install
lsb-samba both on the native host and
in the lsbsi, configure and start the
daemons on the native host, and browse
them using the client tools on the
lsbsi.

This really hints to me that we don't
have pam in the lsbsi in a state where
it's useful. I created an
/etc/pam.d directory and installed
an /etc/pam.d/samba that is the same
as the one on the native host, which
appears to have a lot in common on
the pam front. But this wasn't good
enough, apparently.

I'm kind of a novice at pam, I'm asking if
anyone has any pointers for me to help
save me some time tracking this down.
