Hi - ... being new at the LSB, SI stuff I may be asking some very basic questions. Please, bare with me.. As far as I can tell it is to build the LSB 1.3 version. Do you think the directions provided on http://www.linuxbase.org/impl/build.html are still good. Seems like the packages are downloaded from cvs.gforge.freestandards.org location site per the instructions at this link. How can I tell which is the backup location ? The location you had provided http://ftp.freestandards.org/pub/lsb/impl/packages has all the packages but I can't tell if this site is used for download by the "extras/entitycheck.py" command . I guess I can download each package separately but don't know if that will be most efficient route... Is there a way to download all of these packages as a part of the "extras/entitycheck.py" command. thanks, Kaiser Saeed IBM ISV & Developer Relations [email protected] 972-280-4675 t/l: 542-4675 "Wichmann, Mats D" To: Kaiser Saeed/Dallas/Contr/IBM@IBMUS, <[email protected]> <mats.d.wichmann@ cc: intel.com> Subject: RE: [lsb-impl] LSB Sample Implementation - 11 packages retrieval failed 01/29/2004 03:00 PM Hmmm. You're trying to build the LSB 1.3 version, right? Some of the upstream locations change over time, often when a new package is released the old one moves to an alternate spot. We've fixed these are we go along, but those changes are not "backported" to the 1.3 version. Can you send me the url that's being used as the "backup location"? All the packages should be there if they're not in the primaries, but I think there was a bug in the url for the backup location. Come to think of it, just make sure this is pasted into extras/entitypath.py: http://ftp.freestandards.org/pub/lsb/impl/packages as fallback_url. That's the correct path. > I followed instruction for building the LSB Sample Implementation as > specified at http://www.linuxbase.org/impl/build.html > website.
