I'm not sure how much work it will be, possibly not too much, but it
would be very nice to have this as the upstream is using Xvfb for
testing also.

Yuck. It's not part of the test suite. It's a target to which we point
the test suite.  Building Xvfb is really not that difficult to build
(certainly not when compared to building gcc or glibc, etc), and the patches
required recently have not been that difficult. I find it hard to beleive
that anyone has a problem with shipping a program that is configured to work
properly.

It would make more sense to provide Xvfb via the appbat. I think we do
this for some other things like expact already don't we?
