For Linux kernels 2.6.10 and greater, on ia64, when the configured page size is not 4K, the following tests fail: /tset/ANSI.os/streamio/fwrite/T.fwrite 3 UNRESOLVED /tset/LSB.os/ioprim/writev_L/T.writev_L 13 FAIL /tset/POSIX.os/ioprim/write/T.write 13 FAIL The problem is that, on systems where Linux's PAGE_SIZE > POSIX's PIPE_BUF, a read of PIPE_BUF bytes is not sufficient to cause a full pipe to unblock. All three tests above assume that a PIPE_BUF read is always sufficient. I wrote and submitted a patch that would fix this problem, but it appears to have been rejected. Linus believes that the precise amount that must be read from the pipe to unblock it is not specified by POSIX/SUS, and that any code depending on a specific number is broken. My message to lkml is in the URL, and contains the patch. Linus's replies are in the thread. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.linuxbase.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.
