'target' in general is confusing in a toolchain context because it has 
special meaning in the binutils/glibc/gcc world. Maybe something that 
includes lsb somehow and also implies product standard and not version. 
Maybe similar to what Mats' said with 'type' like '--lsb-type' or something?

s:/opt:$PREFIX:
Keep in mind our tools need to be able to install in /opt (LSB workgroup 
provided binaries, /usr (distro provided binaries), /usr/local (sysadmin 
built binaries), etc.
