The new update will (if validated) use 3.1.10 kernel, mainly because this kernel had been tested in cooker for a couple months now. 2011 will be updated with recent kernels after good testing will be done through cooker. Of course we'll check that the DKMS and other tools that depends on the kernel ABI still work. Perhaps we'll stop updating 2011 with kernel 3.2.x, so the backport work remains sane but at least 2011 desktop users will use a recent kernel. -- Franck
