I did get sound working in skype finally, but somehow, I now don't get sound out of firefox. Skype stopped working when I brought up the pulse audio volume control and it seems to have started to work again after I exited the pulse audio control and restarted skype. This particular machine is a dual boot: Mandriva 2010.0 and Mandriva 2010.1. All work together in 2010.0, but problems in 2010.1. Very confusing.
